For the third time I decided to draw an Acorn elves inktober – inktober themes, but in world of Acorn elves. My earlier drawings from this drawing challenge can be found here: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021. Like last year, I drew it on an iPad in Procreate.
Towards the end of the challenge, I felt sorry that the drawn pictures would fall into internet oblivion, so I decided to make a little book for my own pleasure: Inktober 2020 – 2022.
It contains a selection of 43 Inktober drawings from 2020 to 2022.
Back to this year’s challenge. Here’s the list of prompts for this year’s edition, complete with translations and a few of my sketches that I jotted down:
The first inktober drawing is here!
The subject was a gargoyle, and I wondered what it looks like when an acorn elf overlooks and picks up a vomiting russula while mushrooming. Be careful when mushroom picking!.
Day 2 of Inktober, the theme is “scurry”
Do you have any idea what the monster is that the Acorn elf is running from?.
Inktober day three, theme is “bat”
It was an great idea to make wings out of fresh juicy leaves and then frolic like batman…
Fourth day of Inktober, the theme “scallop”
Originally I was going to use it as a skirt and fan, but then the Venus of Acorn elves was born on my canvas!
5th day of Inktober, theme “flame”
Acorn elf shouldn’t play with fire too much, and when warming himself by it, he’d better keep a safe distance. Now he’ll remember!
6th day of Inktober, theme “bouquet”
That’s what I call a puget for a mushroom girl! This is sure to iron out all the Acorn elf’s troubles!
7th day of inktober, theme “trip”
It will probably be a long trip to a nearby place…
8th day of inktober, theme “match”
Which means not only match, but also match… so I kind of combined it…
9th day of inktober, theme “nest”
Acorn elf has settled in a beautiful nest, but I don’t envy him waking up to some metal on my headphones 🙂
10th day of inktober – one third over, theme “crabby”
So I drew a carbby crab 🙂
Day 11 of Inktober, simple theme “eagle”
It seems to me that the simpler the assignment the harder it is to come up with something that has some extra ideas – I’m not going to draw a normal eagle! So at least I came up with a logo for the Acorn elves aero gang 🙂
The 12th day of Inktober, the theme of “forget”
Something the boy forgot here after swimming…
13th day of Inktober, theme “kind”
I can’t think of any other comments today.
14th day of inktober, the theme is “empty”
So the acorn elf is definitely not empty, but the plate will be empty when he rolls away. A little weaker idea and illustration today, not every day is a holy day and the pace is frantic…
15th day of Inktober, theme “armadillo”
In the picture you see two armadillos, one is coiled in a defensive position 🙂
16th day of Inktober, theme “fowl”
Half of Inktober is over and I have no slip yet! In this picture I tried using a different brush, not just doing a thin line and actually not redrawing and doodling it straight. The idea kind of came to me on its own.
17th day of inktober, theme “salty”
I really don’t know how he got there, but it’s obviously very salty 🙂
18th day of inktober, the theme is “scrape”
Which also means to erase. So I’ve combined digital drawing with analog erasing 🙂
19th day of inktober, theme “ponytail” – hairstyle that looks like a ponytail
This theme took me the longest time to come up with, finally I came up with corn.
20th day of inktober, theme “bluff”
Here I have documented why you rarely see Acorn elves in nature – they can bluff and hide perfectly, probably using some optical illusions!
Day 21 of Inktober, theme “Bad Dog”
I finally drew a short (and hopefully funny, if a little horror) comic strip once again.
22nd day of Inktober, theme “heist”
Today a joke for English speakers. I don’t know what the acorn elf’s L is for, but suddenly there’s a swimming poo instead of a swimming pool 🙂
23rd day of Inktober, the theme of “booger”
I took a little inspiration from Giuseppe Arcimboldo, but I don’t know if you’ll see it there – maybe today’s theme will help you a little bit.
24th day of Inktober, theme “fairy”
Fairies nowadays are not always just beautiful girls anymore. Long live balance and equal opportunities!
25th day of Inktober, the theme “tempting”
Today I drew the picture from fly’s perspective, hopefully I didn’t overdo it – what is tempting for one person can have exactly the opposite effect on someone else!
26th day of Inktober, the theme “ego”
I really like this picture, even though it’s so cliché and the idea of a shadow or a mirror is very corny!
Day 27 of Inktober, the theme “snack”
I unwrapped a wafer and before I could take a bite, someone had already beaten me to it! That’s speed!
28th day of Inktober, the theme “camping”
Acorn elf set up a tent from a book, lit a campfire from a tea candle and roasted some marshmallows he took from our children… and I can’t decide if the black and white or the colour version is nicer. Which do you think is better?
29th day of Inktober, theme “UH-OH”
Today is a weaker idea, somehow I’m running out of inspiration and I’m slowly starting to see the end of Inktober.
Day 30 of Inktober, theme “gear”
Finally a bit of abstraction again, when I can draw doodles (mindless drawings) 🙂 And maybe it could be used on a t-shirt!
31st day of Inktober, theme “farm”
I drew a Acorn elves farm – a place where Acorn elves are born! And by the end of the week I will publish a selection of my best Inktober drawings as a little book, just for fun…
